The Nick Would Foundation has established two annual scholarship awards for freeski athletes for the 2024-2025 season - The Nick Would Athletic Achievement Scholarship and additional scholarship funding to be applied to the Winter Program Fee Scholarship. Freeski athletes are required to fill out the Nick Would Foundation Application when applying for The Nick Would Athletic Achievement Scholarship or for financial support in addition to the Winter Program Fee Scholarship. SSWSC Freeski athletes must be in middle or high school between 13 and 18 years old and demonstrate the qualities Nick brought to SSWSC – integrity, passion, gratitude, community, and a deep appreciation for outdoor pursuits to qualify for these scholarships.

The new Nick Would Foundation Athletic Achievement Scholarship is intended for athletes between the ages of 13 and 18 years old in the freeski program who plan to attend three or more regional or national IFSA or USASA competitions. This achievement scholarship provides financial support to athletes who excel in the freeski or big mountain disciplines. Athletic achievement, compassion for others, and a solid moral character are the criteria for this award.

The Winter Program Fee Scholarship is intended to assist SSWSC families with SSWSC program fees based on financial need. Applications will be collected on August 15, October 15 and December 15 and applicants will contacted by the end of that month.

NEW! EZ Competitive Program Scholarship
SSWSC is now offering a NEW scholarship opportunity for families with athletes in high school-age, year-round competitive programs. The EZ Competitive Program Scholarship is a two-step scholarship fee program for athletes in year-round programs; it requires submitting a current 1040 or 1040EZ tax return. The EZ Competitive Scholarship is applied directly to program fees based on the family’s adjusted gross income after tax return verification.
